The next song of our series comes from Japan, written by Ken Okamora. The Japanese name of this song is ‘Hanamo‘, and the English name is ‘Even in Flowers’. You can enjoy this beautiful worship song below, or here.
About The Song
By Ken Okamora
“Even in Flowers” is a popular Japanese-written worship song. This song was written by MEBIC, a kids outreach ministry by Airin chapel in Ebetsu, Hokkaido. It is often sung at church camps, perhaps because we’re surrounded by nature and it contains many references to nature, 泉spring, 実fruit, 花flower, 雲cloud, 風wind, 大海ocean, 空sky.
When living in Japan you cannot help but appreciate the beautiful nature God has created, the layered mountains, the seasonal flowers on the side of the road, the dragonflies swimming in the sky announcing autumn is here!

“They wind through lonesome valleys, come upon brooks,
discover cool springs and pools brimming with rain!”
Psalm 84:6 “The Message”

Kokoni izumiwa waku namidawo sugiru toki
Yagate miwo musubi warai goeni michiru
Hanamo kumomo kazemo ooumimo
Kanadeyo kanadeyo yesuwo
Sorani hibike utae tamashiiyo
Megumiwo megumiwo megumiwo
Aoge tenwa hiraki bokurawa mirudarou

English Translation
Here’s a stream that cleanses all our griefs
Even though our tears will pass away

And when His grace brings us to fruitfulness
Songs of joy will fill our every days
Let the flowers and the clouds
Let the winds and the deepest seas
Sing praise to the Lord, praise to the Lord. Praise the Lord.
Let our voices light the skies
O my soul, let your praises fly
Give thanks to the Lord, thanks to the Lord. Thank you Lord.
